Hi, I'm Lea!

“I'm fascinated by how closely nutrition, microorganisms, and our bodies are connected – and by how much there is still to discover in the world of fermentation.” - Lea

Welcome to Dancing Microbes!

I'm Lea, the founder of Dancing Microbes – my small milk kefir business based in southern Germany, near Stuttgart.

My fascination with kefir began a few years ago and quickly grew into a deep passion for fermentation, living kefir cultures, and mindful eating.

What fascinates me most is the incredible world of microorganisms and our gut microbiome. I love exploring the scientific connections between nutrition, microorganisms, and the human body, and I find it fascinating just how diverse and complex these topics are.

My Passion for Fermentation

I'm equally passionate about the traditional art of fermentation and how simple ingredients can be transformed into something entirely new through the interaction of living cultures.

Over the years, I've gained extensive knowledge about kefir cultures, fermentation processes, and making homemade milk kefir, along with plenty of hands-on experience.
This passion led me to create Dancing Microbes. Here, I carefully cultivate my milk kefir grains, freshly pack them for each order, and have the cultures laboratory-tested as part of my quality control process.

My goal is to share my knowledge and experiences with you and inspire you to discover the fascinating world of fermentation for yourself.

  • I believe that everyone can discover the traditional art of making kefir – no special knowledge or experience required.

That's why Dancing Microbes offers not only live milk kefir grains, but also practical step-by-step guides, helpful tips, and creative recipe ideas to make getting started easy.

I want to encourage you to get creative, try something new, and discover the joy of making your own milk kefir at home.

Because that's what Dancing Microbes is all about for me: curiosity, a passion for living cultures, and the joy of sharing knowledge and experiences with others.

I'm excited to be part of your own fermentation journey!
